Last night we went on a walk for the third day in a row! Wow, three consecutive days of exercise. It was nice.
Later that evening at home, I got a voicemail from my dad on my phone. Did I ever mention that we ended up having dinner with them, and it wasn’t so bad? Yeah, surprising. The conversation flowed, and it felt a bit like we were healing some of the uncomfortableness of the relationship past.
Well the voicemail said that they’re coming to take our fridge away on Saturday.
UGH.
The refrigerator was the only thing not included in the sale of our home, for some stupid reason. We went with it because we wanted the house, and thought it would be years before they remodeled their kitchen and wanted to take it. Well, it will probably be years til they remodel, they are going to have to take out all the cabinets for the fridge to even fit, but when I called my dad back and made a joke (but not joking) about the incredibly short notice, he said that this was the only time they would have a truck and free time.
Well, fuck, I certainly wouldn’t want to inconvenience you in taking away our refrigerator. I said in a resigned voice, “Well, it’s yours, so tell me what time and we’ll be here.” Then he said I sounded tired. No, I just lost the little faith I had gained for your selfish ass, and I’m upset that I let myself believe that you cared about anyone but yourself. Yeah. I’m tired.
So now we don’t get to wait for good deals or big sales, now we have to scramble and will probably have to live out of a cooler for a while (even though we don’t even have one of those) until something new that we pay too much for arrives. Thanks for the 5 days notice guys. The only other thing they said was around Christmastime when dad said “You ready to get rid of that fridge?” Ha Ha. No.
And we just bought that monstrously expensive bed. What a great time to have to go and spend more money in a panic.
